This month, the Yawp sent out the first annual poll asking GWUOHS students and staff to share their favorite December traditions! The results were incredible– students shared that they always bake cookies with their families, read the Polar Express on Christmas Eve, or even cook a three-course dinner to share with their family and friends. One student even shared that their entire family gets Chinese food on Christmas and then drinks hot cocoa in front of the fire.
Whether you choose to spend Christmas Eve decorating the tree, baking cookies, or even taking a snowy walk outside, December is a time for traditions and family. What was even more astounding, was that even though GW students and teachers are located across the country, they all share one common desire– to celebrate the Christmas holiday with love and joy with their families. And to me, that is the true spirit of Christmas.
