With the NBA season coming to a close, one of the biggest headlines of the season will be who wins the MVP Award. Currently, the consensus is that it will be between two of the most prolific players in the league, either James Harden of the Houston Rockets or Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. Either pick would be valid since both players are having great years and each of their teams are doing well in the hard-to-win Western Conference. Curry’s Warriors are number one in the West and have the best record in the league at 63-14 while being led by Curry. He is averaging 23.6 points per game and 7.7 assists and 44 percent from three. James Harden on the other hand is leading the Rockets to the second best record in the West while averaging 27.7 points per game, approximately 6 rebounds, and seven assists a game playing well on both ends of the floor. He recently had three games in which he scored 51 points which was a career high, 33, and 31. Both players were All-Stars this year and have been leading their teams in the Championship hunt. Although the consensus is the winner will be one of these two players others like Russell Westbrook and LeBron James are also having great season. Westbrook has a league leading eleven triple doubles while placing second in scoring. James on the other hand has led the Cavaliers to the second spot in the East and recently had a triple double against the Bulls. Finally, Chris Paul has been leading the way for the Clippers with a 41 point, 17 assist game against the Trail Blazers. With the season coming to a close, the MVP race should be exciting to watch.
